DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE, 13B and KARMA AUR HOLI
It's an interesting mix of movie releases on coming Friday, what with DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE, 13B and KARMA AUR HOLI clashing with each other at the box office. What's also common about each of the three films is that they are all medium budget films.
Though none of the three movies seem to be embarking on an earth shattering opening, the one that may still do a little better than the rest is laugh fest DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE. From the promotion perspective, it has taken a lead but it still can't be called really optimal. Nevertheless, the film appears to be yet another addition to the mindless entertainers that have worked in the past and if luck really favors DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE, it may add on that list. Starring Paresh Rawal, Kunal Khemu, Sonu Sood, Soha Ali Khan and Johny Lever in principal roles, this Umesh Shukla directed film is backed by UTV and hence may eventually find some decent chunk of audiences for itself.
13B is a horror flick starring Madhavan and Neetu Chandra which has seen some limited promotional campaign but still not good enough that would make audience form beelines for the film when it arrives this Friday. The film boasts of an interesting storyline (a TV program driving the lives of a family in real life as well) but the kind of excitement that was created by the makers of films like PHOONK, 1920 and most recently RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES is clearly missing here.
Third release of the week is a dramatic KARMA AUR HOLI which is finally releasing after being in the cans for years now. Zero promotion, zero hype, zero craze, zero awareness and zero excitement means that this Sushimita Sen starrer would find itself lucky to be surviving even a single weekend at the box office. Need we say more?
